چکیده
Introduction Genetic polymorphisms in CYP19 have been hypothesized to alter aromatase activity and have been examined in relationship with breast cancer risk (1–4). A greater frequency of tetranucleotide (TTTA)n repeat alleles in intron 4 have been reported among affected women (1,2). In a Scandinavian case-control study (cases/controls, 481/236) Kristensen et al. (4) observed a positive association between a SNP (C 3 T) in the untranslated region of exon 10 and risk of breast cancer (TT versus CC genotypes; OR, 2.00; 95% CI, 1.28–3.11), and a greater frequency of the TT genotype among women with larger and more advanced tumors. We assessed the association between CYP19 genotype, breast cancer risk, and endogenous steroid hormone levels in the prospective Nurses’ Health Study.

Study of Cytochrome P450 1A1 (T3801C) Single Nucleotide Polymorphism in Patients with Breast Cancer in Mazandaran Province-Northern Iran
Background: Breast cancer is the first leading cause of cancer-related death in women. Pesticides which are excessively used in northern Iran are one of the most important risk factors for breast cancer incidence. The cytochrome P450 1A1 (cyp1A1) is a key enzyme in xenobiotics metabolism and SNPs of its coding gene has been verified to be important in cancer susceptibility. The aim of thi...
متن کاملAnalysis of the rs10046 Polymorphism of Aromatase (CYP19) in Premenopausal Onset of Human Breast Cancer
The CYP19 gene encodes aromatase, an enzyme catalyzing the conversion of androgens to estrogens. Studies analyzing associations between single nucleotide polymorphisms in CYP19 and breast cancer risk have shown inconsistent results. The rs10046 polymorphism is located in the 3' untranslated region of the CYP19 gene, but the influence of this polymorphism on breast cancer risk is unclear. In thi...
متن کاملAssociation between the Functional Polymorphism of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Gene and Breast Cancer: A Meta-Analysis
The vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) gene single-nucleotide polymorphism involved in the regulation of the protein levels has been implicated in breast cancer. However, the published studies have produced contentious and controversial results. Herein, we performed a meta-analysis (from January to October 2013); to further evaluate the association between +936 C/T polymorphism and the r...
متن کاملDetection of single Nucleotide Polymorphism E326K of SHBG Gene in Breast Cancer of Iranian Females
Background & Objective: Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin (SHBG) is a plasma glycoprotein that regulates the action of steroid hormones on several levels. Since SHBG is one of the growth regulators of breast cancer cells, the aim of this study was to evaluate the association between polymorphisms E326K and the risk of breast cancer. Materials & Methods: This study was done as a case-control study on...
متن کاملStudy of the association FokI polymorphisms of the XRCC3 gene with the risk of breast cancer in women: brief report
Background: Breast cancer is one of the most common worldwide malignancies among women. Biological data suggest that damage induced by endogenous and exogenous factors affects the integrity of DNA and associated with susceptibility to breast cancer. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in DNA repair genes can associated with differences in the repair efficiency of DNA damage and may affect br...
